Overview
Developed at the same time as it's big brother (Roland RD-700SX), this is a lightweight, nicely portable digital piano. Uses true 88-note piano samples from the Fantom-X and Roland's progressive piano hammer action.
The Sounds
The RD-700SX provides two complete 88-note concert grand pianos, each providing individual multisamples for every key, and recorded at a variety of velocity levels. The RD-700SX also contains authentic electric piano and virtual tonewheel organ instruments, as well as an entire GM2-compatible sound set. Load and Play Standard MIDI files with the built-in MIDI File player. Onboard Rhythm and Arpeggiator functions are provided as well.
The Features
- True 88-note piano samples from Fantom-X
- Compact Progressive Hammer Action
- Lightweight and portable
- 128-voice polyphony
- USB MIDI interface
The RD-300SX delivers a lightweight body, and shares much in common with its higher-end sibling, the RD-700SX. 128-voice polyphony, 88-note individually sampled grand piano waveforms, hundreds of sounds and rhythms.
Convenient hands-on controls, dedicated buttons and knobs for instant access to instruments, EQ and effects. Dual/split keyboard setups are quickly accessed with the touch of a button. A very nice touch, which is missing from many stage pianos, is a pitch bend/modulation lever.
The Effects
The RD-300SX offers 78 multi-effect types, plus independent effects including reverb and EQ.
Connectivity
The RD-300SX connects to computers via USB port for one-cable MIDI communication. Standard MIDI in/out ports connectors are provided. Master, slave, or solo — the RD-300SX can be played as a standalone instrument, driven from other MIDI gear, or used as the master controller for an entire MIDI setup.
