Overview
The FP-2 Digital Piano answers the need for a lightweight and compact digital piano while keeping the feel of a fine concert grand. This affordable instrument comes with an 88-note Progressive Hammer-Action Keyboard, superb piano and instrument sounds and a refined new look with onboard speakers. A new Sound Control function gives players deeper, richer piano tones, while the onboard Session Partner provides easy auto-accompaniment. Great looks and even better performance.
The Sounds
The RD-700SX provides two complete 88-note concert grand pianos, each providing individual multisamples for every key, and recorded at a variety of velocity levels. The RD-700SX also contains authentic electric piano and virtual tonewheel organ instruments, as well as an entire GM2-compatible sound set. Load and Play Standard MIDI files with the built-in MIDI File player. Onboard Rhythm and Arpeggiator functions are provided as well.

Great for gigging in or outside the home, with a nice lightweight cabinet and built-in speakers which makes it easy to move around. Combined with Roland's "Progressive Hammer-Action" keyboard, the FP-2’s compact body makes it ideal as a portable digital piano. Full-sized keys featuring a dynamic touch weight variation (heavier touch in the lower range and lighter touch in the upper range) giving an authentic acoustic piano feel.
The Effects
With a nice sounding 4-band EQ, the FP-2 is Roland’s first digital piano to include "Sound Control", an easy-to-use feature that can boost the lower register of the piano sounds for deeper, richer tone. Brighten your piano sound or add more warmth to the lower frequencies.
Session Partner
Roland’s Session Partner has become very popular, thanks to its ability to create instant auto-accompaniment in a variety of musical styles. The FP-2’s Session Partner has 80 rhythm and accompaniment ballads, jazz, Latin and 12 new styles. Players can choose to play along with a full accompaniment including chords, bass and drums and even create their own chord progressions.
Connectivity
With USB standard, you can connect the FP-2 to a computer and use it as a sound source for sequencing or as a high-quality controller. The FP-2 is also GM2-compliant, making it easy to use with Standard MIDI Files. So whether you want to write music on your computer or just sit down and play, the FP-2 is a great way to do it.
