What does version 2 add?
With the Version 2 software update, the RD-700NX gets new Live Sets and flexible sound creation with the RD-NX Editor for iPad.

Along with the grand pianos and electric pianos, there are hundreds of powerful synthesizer sounds, plus a variety of multi-effects. Combinations of layers, zones, effects, and various tone parameters can be stored as Live Sets for powerful and expressive sound creation.

The RD-NX Editor with the Version 2 software upgrade includes 50 new "Live Sets" with flexible real-time control via sliders or pedals. The RD-NX Editor for iPad lets you select your favorite Live Set easily, and edit your layers visually on the large screen of the iPad. The RD-NX Editor can be used wirelessly with Roland's WNA1100-RL Wireless USB adapter (sold separately).

Interface
Along with the stadard grand pianos and electric pianos, there are buckets of additional sounds including Tone Wheel organs, GM2 tones, rhythm sets, and GM2 rhythm sets. Sifting through the sound library is fast and convenient with the new, high-resolution LCD, which provides clearer visibility and a beautiful graphical user interface. As well, the One Touch Piano feature from previous RD-series pianos has been enhanced, providing instant access to standard piano sounds and setups with the touch of a button. Three types of acoustic pianos and three types of electric pianos are now available for instant One Touch recall.
